Stumbling in the Semi-Dark

Why stumbling?

And, in fact, why dark?

Have you ever felt, as someone dealing with flexible learning (or call it e-learning or whatever else you like) that you can hardly keep up with developments and that there is simply far too much to know (naturally), but that it is expected of you to know everything?

I am supposed to be the expert on e-assessment, collaboration, online delivery, emerging technologies, blended learning, learning activities, and a thousand other things. Impossible, aye? Of course it is, but it is necessary that I know something of everything, and yet we all know the saying “a little knowledge is a dangerous thing” (while a lot of knowledge is power, or was that powerful?).

Still, my main interests lie, and therefore my strength is in, collaborative learning (online), Web 2.0 and Generation C.

And yet … I stumble around … but it’s fascinating what one can find in the gloom.
